Today I am here to write on the most important person in our life.
No, he is not an human being, but for us he is even more than that. He is none other than our love, our son our very own bike whom we have given the name "AVY", basically a sweet short form of Bajaj "Avenger" , its brand.
I know it might be funny for some of you that how can be I be so lovable and poetic in writing about our bike. But believe me he means a lot to us. We dreamt of it much before our marriage. I must say, I was not at all a bike lover and do not have any knowledge about the bike brands until the day I met my husband. He is a total opposite to me , a hardcore bike lover who literally studies the different brands and can give a detailed description on any bike. So, it is him from whom I first came to know about the bike "Bajaj Avenger". He always like cruiser bikes very similar to the bikes we get to see in the foreign lands. So one day while roaming around in the busy streets of Kolkata he showed me the bike that was passing by. What can I say? It was awesome. He told me that he has a dream of having that bike for last 9 years..OMG.. Those days, we were not able to afford such bike as it was damn costly. But he was patient, he told me that may be today I am not able to get it but someday in near future I will buy that and take you for a ride...and YES, now we are proud owner of a bright red colored BAJAJ AVENGER who is our son and we love it like anything.
Right after our marriage we started looking for this bike. We were visiting showrooms, getting price quote, planning , dreaming, but somehow not able get the right one.. either the bike is not available or not getting the right color. In the mean time we shifted to Mangalore and went busy settling up here.
Once we were settled, one day hubby took me to the Bajaj showroom and here we got to see all the desired colored bikes which we can choose from. Initially we were sticking to the black color but while checking other variants we both fall in love with the red colored one and took the decision to take it.
Finally, we achieved our dream. On the 5th of May,2014 we became the proud owner of a red colored BAJAJ AVENGER. Hubby brought it home along with a friend and I was busy in office. I get to see him only in the evening. Oh! how beautiful it looked even in that dim light in our parking section. Next day it was just dazzling in the bright sunny day. Choosing the color red was the perfect one.
After that there were couple of treats that we gave to our friends and colleagues in honor of its arrival.
So many of our friends took a test drive on it and were simply spellbound testing its functions. We started going out in it from small outing be it to the beaches,or simple grocery shopping.
Both of us are very caring to it. We never ever take it out if it is raining here. In office we try to keep it under the shed so that its color doesn't fade out. My husband make it a point to take it out everyday and have a ride in it. If we are going to our home town we make it a point to pack and cover it properly.
We once had a bike tour to Sringeri a beautiful place in the state of Karnataka and we had to travel through the very dangerous hilly roads in the ghat section. I salute to my husband for riding it so well in such roads. It was a long journey of 250 km that started in the morning and ended up at night. Our Avy is the hero of that tour. I feel so comfortable sitting at the back resting on the back rest it has. The back rest is very helpful anytime when my husband takes a sudden pickup and I jumps back due to the inertia( a thing I learnt way back in my schooldays in physics). I feel so proud when I see passer by gazing at it anytime we are going on the road.
I should stop here or I will end up writing a book on it. My love for it is to that extent.
But before ending , I must admit he is the most cherished and lovable, special person in our life.
