Keema Kaleja - A meaty affair

Since my childhood days, I have this unusual liking towards Chicken liver. Whenever chicken was cooked at home, I have the full authority to have that not so big piece of liver. Even if it is shared, I will definitely get the bigger piece. This rule didn't change even now.

Mango Pudding - A Summer Delight

This week was very hectic for me. I was loaded with huge amount of work at office and really didn't find time to sit for writing. On top of that my health was bothering me a lot. I had to take a day off from office as I had a very bad cold followed by a bad stomach. After a long time I was not having the energy to do any house work and was lying down most of the time. But you know, when you are lucky to have the most caring person around you, you really don't have to bother much. My husband is really a wonderful person in managing anything. So as I was down with fever and cold, he was cooking the food, caring about me and also working hard in the office.

Egg Tadka Dal - A North Indian Delicacy

Have you ever had a trip on a car and stopped at any roadside Dhaba to have lunch or dinner?
Well if not I must tell you that this roadside Dhabas serves you the most delicious authentic Punjabi or rather north Indian dishes.

Telling about Dhabas, one very common dish that comes into mind is "Tadka" teamed with any kind of rotis ranging from "tandoori", "roomali" or the simple roti.

Tadka roti was a famous dish in my home when I was a kid. Often my dad used to bring this two things when my mom has come late from her college or she is not in a mood to cook anything. We used to enjoy those hot rotis with spicy Egg Tadka teamed with onions and green chillies. I used to think about the person who has prepared this delicious tadka. It used to taste so yummy. Basically it used to come in his medium sized earthen pot very popularly known as "Bhar" in Bengali. I used to lick the pot and not leave a single pieces of that delicious tadka.

Sorry for posting this one so late after Day 1. Actually I was so busy with other things that didn't get the time publish this. Finally today I did it. Please check.

The second day of the weekend was the most exciting one. It was Saturday and hubby and me decided to take bro-in-law for whole day trip to explore the beautiful city of Mangalore. By this time we get to know that he likes going to the beaches than to the hills. So we booked a car and after having our breakfast started our journey.

St. Mary's Island

Oh! How can I describe the journey... It was soooo nice. I must say the highways in the State of Karnataka is just awesome, you can really feel the charm of driving.

Aloo Begun Borir jhol - a mild gravy with potato, eggplant and bengali sundried dumplings

While I was a kid, I loved this dish and my mom used to make it very frequently. This is really a very good dish in the summer as it is very light and easy to digest.
It is very hot in Mangalore right now an after coming back from office, I feel very confused what to cook for dinner. Due to this heat hubby and me both does not  like anything spicy so I went for this one. Besides it will not take much time to prepare the dish and it will taste super.

You can customize the dish also adding other veggies like parwal, cauliflower or can make only with potatoes. Addition of boris make it taste awesome. However you can omit it if you don't like.
